Courses sponsored by the Arnhold Arts and Humanities Commons offer opportunities for faculty and students to participate in hands-on, project-based learning in small, intensive environments. The Commons provides funding for faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates to engage with innovative approaches to the arts and humanities. The program supports two types of courses each year — Arnhold Summer Courses and Humanities Lab Courses.
Arnhold Summer Courses
Summer Courses provide opportunities for faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates to engage with compelling issues or topics from multiple disciplinary perspectives and to apply learning in concrete and tangible ways through project-based learning. Arnhold Summer Courses provide competitive scholarships for enrolled undergraduates, as well as course development and programming funds for faculty members and TAs.
Humanities Lab Courses
Humanities Lab courses offer immersive opportunities to explore the arts and humanities. Students participate in interdisciplinary, innovative, and hands-on learning experiences designed to open pathways into the world of the arts and humanities.
